Cricket 

In this country, cricket is the most popular sport. Bangladesh regularly hosts multiple international T20 Internationals, Test Matches, and 1-day Internationals. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and India hosted the 2011 World Cup. Additionally, Bangladesh was selected to host the 2014 World Twenty20 Cricket Council. The largest regulatory body in the country overseeing the growth of the sport is the Bangladeshi Cricket Council. On February 9, 2020, Bangladesh's Under-19 cricket side qualified for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa after overcoming India in a thrilling championship match. This was Bangladesh's first significant triumph in an ICC competition. Mehidy Hasan and Shakib AI Hasan are two players that are renowned for their inventive play.


Karate 

Bangladesh won four gold medals in karate at the 11th South Asian Games. Bangladesh finished second in archery at the 13th South Asian Games with three gold medals. Bangladesh has participated in multiple global karate competitions, taking home seven gold medals from the South Asian Games.


However, Butthan 

Sports, self-defense, and overall well-being are Butthan's three main tenets. Grandmaster Mak Yuree Vajramunee, who was ranked among the top five Superhumans by a Science Channel research team, created Butthan. It's a fighting style used by Bangladeshis.


Archery

Hockey 

Hockey is a highly recognized sport in Bangladesh. It comes in third place in popularity, behind football and cricket. However, poor governance and a lack of responsible authorities have also contributed to the downfall of this sport. In spite of this, Bangladesh often competes in the Hockey Asian Cup and supported the competition in 1985. The First Division Hockey League is the most prestigious domestic competition held by the Bangladesh Hockey Federation, the national governing body of the sport. Players like Abu Nippon and Bashir Ahmed are two instances.


Soccer 

Football has always been the most popular sport in Bangladesh, behind cricket. Its football organization, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), and the government are ignoring it in spite of this. Football gained popularity in the 1980s.


Golf 

Bangladesh has seen a rise in the popularity of golf recently. In 2010, Siddikur Rahman became the first player from Bangladesh to win an Asian Tour tournament in the Brunei Open, making history in that regard. After then, investors and the Bangladeshi media gave the sport enough coverage to ensure its long-term financial success.

Two weeks in Bangladesh – all you need to know!

Spending two weeks in Bangladesh hadn’t been in my short-term plan also popular dishes to try in Bangladesh ; however, circumstances were so that I decided to explore this Asian country with my friend with whom I work in Yambio, South Sudan.
